Day Fourteen

Today was rather interesting

Priya shared with us her aggravation with a book she was reading about an American women who lived in India for three years that made all these irrational remarks about Indian Women and culture. I thought it was pretty ridiculous myself. It's amazing how some things actually get published these days. It's embarrassing that it was she was American too...makes us (Americans) look bad.

I also found myself asking a lot of questions today as well...Like where I can go to see Classical Indian Dance Shows, and apparently this is the season for all the concerts, Priya was telling me, because she invited me to her daughter Bharatanatym performance a couple weeks ago and it totally passed me by. She also told me that she knows of a lady who does five day workshops that introduces 3 classical styles: Bharatanatym, Odissi, and Kathak. She gave me her number so I'm going to try and call her tomorrow some time and find out more about it.

After a full day of work, Delphine and I decided to catch a movie at PVR Cinema at Shopper Stop down by Juhu Beach. We got tickets to see The Social Network at 7:30pm. We grabbed a bite at at the Cafe Coffe Day after looking around the mall. The movie was really good except it left me a little confused. The funniest thing happened when Right in the middle of the movie, the screen turns black and people start walking out. I start getting upset and blaming it on the power until on the screen appears "Intermission" I couldn't stop laughing at myself.

It was a great night!
